Churchtown battle Merchant Taylors!

After winning a tournament last week hosted by Merchant Taylors, our mixed Y5/6 team were invited back to the school in Crosby to compete against their team of Years 5 and 6.

Prior the match, our pupils were able to have lunch in Merchant Taylor's dining room with some of their Year 5 players before the game commenced at 1pm. It was a partciularly special day as Merchant Taylors were also holding their annual 'MCC vs 1st XI' match, so the children were able to watch the first half of the game and then compete in their own contest whilst the older players and spectators had their lunch. Many stood on the balcony and watched our upcoming cricket stars!

After an extremely closely fought match, Churchtown were able to persevere and claim the victory! We couldn't be more proud of the 9 boys and 1 girl in UKS2 for the sportsmanship, determination and skill they have displayed over the past month. Special thanks to Mr Bateman as well for his excellent coaching skills! This was an excellent end to the children's very successful 'mini tour' as a team!
