Churchtown Chipmunks is a charity that we have created to support our Young Carers and CHUGGs groups within school.
Young Carers are children within school who have a close family member with physical, mental or learning needs and disabilities.
CHUGGs (CHUrchtown Grief Group) are children within school who have been bereaved of a parent or sibling.
These groups provide a place where the children can come together to share experiences, worries, etc. but most importantly to have fun with children in similar situations to themselves and realise that they are not alone.
These groups have been created, organised and run voluntarily by staff within and during the school day. We are only able to provide outings, events and trips for the children through donations from local shops, businesses, organisations and individuals, or through fundraising within our school.
