£1186.44 Raised For Children In Need and CLF
CHILDREN and staff from Churchtown went Spotacular for BBC Children in Need (CIN) and our local charity, Community Link Foundation (CLF), on Friday. Dressed in spotty and Pudsey outfits, the school was a colourful one, to help raise money for both charities.
We had two members of the CLF charity join our Buddy Assemblies to talk about the work CLF have done this year and how the money Churchtown children raised last year has supported specific projects. The chidlren were intrigued to hear about this.
A huge thank you to the School Council who helped organise ideas for the fundraising day, including 'Spotty' activites; spot the difference, spotty art, and baking spotty cakes. They also organised a raffle with Pudsey related prizes which children could win by buying raffle tickets - £1 per strip. Harry Hesketh-Knee from 2AD won the raffle and he had his photograph taken with a special Pudsey visitor at the end of the day, well done Harry!
We managed to raise an amzing £1186.44. Lloyd's Bank Group has committed to help CIN support all UK schools, with the aim to double donations raised. The money will be forwarded to the Children in Need Charity and presented to the Community Link Foundation, to support those who may be less fortunate than ourselves or in need of specialist support.
Thank you one and all - A great team effort!
