Daniel Purvis inspires young gymnasts!

On Thursday 24th November, Year 3 and Year 4 were very fortunate to have a visit from an inspirational athlete who is local to our school.

At Churchtown Primary School we love physical activity, with gymnastics being one of our favourites, therefore having Daniel Purvis sharing his passion for gymnastics with us is a memory we will never forget. We were very lucky to be able to see Daniel in action, as he showed us jumps, somersaults and how to climb the ropes to the very top! Miss Lucas couldn’t resist showing Daniel Purvis her headstand… he was actually very impressed! We asked Daniel questions about his career, training and diet, but we were most intrigued by his stories about who inspired him, what his future aspirations are and his positive attitude towards gymnastics. Daniel Purvis is now one of our role models for not giving up, showing determination and being enthusiastic about our goals and passions.

We are hoping to work with Daniel Purvis again in the future… but first we must work on the top tips he provided us!

Thank you Daniel Purvis, you truly are inspirational!
