Fantastic Footie From Year 4

The Year 4 Girls football team played in two tournaments last week and won them both!

On Monday the girls won the Hugh Macauley 'European Championship' tournament at Formby against schools from across Sefton. Despite the hot weather the team showed great endeavour and resillience to overcome all their opponents playing with great skill and determination throughout the morning.

This success was followed on Wednesday by a visit to the Liverpool FC academy facility, where the girls played against teams from across Merseyside and Cheshire.  The team was undefeated throughout the tournament winning every game apart from the first one, which they drew. Playing on bigger pitches against stronger opposition meant the girls had more responsibility to carry out their individual roles within the team and they excelled. Whilst it was fantastic to see Izzy receive a special award for one of her goals it was the team spirit and camerarderie that made Chuchtown stand out in the face of some enthusiastic and determined opposition.
