Hello Yellow Day

World Mental Health Day 2017

Yellow, yellow and more yellow and it was all in aid of World Mental Health Day 2017!

Tuesday 10th October 2017 brought a sea of yellow to Churchtown.  We shined the spotlight on the power of conversation and the whole of Churchtown Primary School shone brighter than ever.  Churchtown newly appointed Wellbeing Champions hosted the day alongside PSHE Subject Leader, Miss Morris and PE Subject Leader Miss Lucas. The morning took off with a whole school Wake and Shake, where staff, parents and children danced and sang together in true Churchtown style! The morning ended with a sea of yellow singing 'I'm still standing' by Elton John.

Throughout the day, each class participated in activities such as mindfulness, relaxation, meditation, peer massage (a clear favourite of the children’s), training our growth mind-sets, discussing emotions, random acts of kindness, gratitude time and lots of other engaging activities linked to positivity. Allan (Wellbeing Champion) from 5SM commented 'It has been so nice to see everyone having fun with all the different activities. Today, more than any other day, peple have been smiling and we all love to see a smile!'
