Imperial War Museum-Year 6

Last week, year 6 ventured to the IWM (North) as part of their Blitz and Peaces topic which covers WWI and WWII. What a tremendous day it turned out to be!

Whilst there, the children had the opportunity to follow 3 different trails of learning: The Blitz; Rationing; and The First World War. They were given expert guidance by their class teachers and had questions to answer and information to enhance their understanding of the different aspects of war. During the day, there were opportunities to stop and listen to some recounts through multi-media presentations projected onto the walls of the museum.

We even had time for our lunch, sat outside by Salford Quays! Once back in school, the children are producing a recount of their trip using information learnt and further research. I’m sure that all of the staff and parent helpers would agree that the children were great ambassadors for the school and represented us beautifully at all times. This is definitely a trip that we would want to repeat next year.
