Churchtown A team in Regional Finals

The Football A team have today competed for the chance to represent Liverpool Fc in a Premier League Tournament

Today's final consisted of the winning 24 from over 200 schools that originally entered. Our record in the group of played 5, won 3, drew 1 and lost 1 meant that going into the final match we were top and our fate was to be decided by the two teams playing. Unfortunately, the only option that would lead to us bowing out in second place was the one that happened.
The team from Prescott who won our group (we drew with them!) went on to win the semi final 4-0 and then the final 3-1. So close and yet so far, but a great experience for our children who played some fantastic football at times and on another day could have come back with a trophy.

The team conducted themselves well throughout, and despite the disapointment of the draw and loss, they managed to regain their style and confidence, both individually and as a team, to win the next two matches. Kamran won our league's "Best Attitude" award and was presented with the prize by Liverpool player Joe Gomez.

Congratulations on getting so far, coming so close, and for representing the school so well.
