Harry Potter Day!

Year 5 Enjoy Magical Harry Potter Day!

Year 5 enjoyed a magical day as part of their Harry Potter theme. The children came dressed up as pupils of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and had the opportunity to explore the shops of Diagon Alley. They visited Flourish and Blotts to learn about the magical creatures in 'The Monster Book of Monsters' and designed their own magical creature. In the apothecary they learnt about spells and in Ollivanders the children created their own patronus for their wands. Also the children learnt to fly broomsticks and tried to play quidditch.

Following the visit to Diagon Alley, the children embarked on their journey to Hogwarts via the Hogwarts Express, where they enjoyed eating chocolate frogs. On arrival at Hogwarts the children were sorted into one the four houses.  Finally, the children were able to watch some of the film whilst tasting Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans and drinking some Butterbeer! A wonderful day was enjoyed by all and the children are excited for continuing the book and their adventures at Hogwarts.
