Our children were lucky enough to be visited by Rebecca from the PDSA who has educated all of the pupils at Churchtown Primary School on how to be responsible pet owners.
Over the week, each year group has spent some time with Rebecca, focusing on how to become responsible pet owners. All assemblies and workshops introduced the children to the history of the PDSA and discussed the 5 welfare needs of all pets. Some classes looked at how to communicate with animals, how to choose the right pet for you, simple pet first aid and what happens at the vets. Year 6 also considered how the PDSA show thanks for the bravery of some animals and listened to many stories of heroic animals that had impacted on or saved the lives of others.
