Girls represent Sefton in Merseyside competition!

Congratulations to the Y5/6 girls who represented both the school and Sefton in the Merseyside School Games Girls Football finals at Halton Select Security Stadium!

Having won their Sefton tournament, the girls arrived promptly - accompanied by Mr King and Mr Bateman - to compete against other winning schools around Merseyside. They walked out of the tunnel to the Champion Leagues music and lined up with every other school to sing the National Anthem. A local school choir helped lead them in song!

After this, the girls competed in a series of matches, working well together and having fun! They lost 2 games, drew 1 and won 2 - an amazing achievement when considering they were playing the best of the best!

After the tournament, Mrs Pilkington arranged for the girls to speak with England Coach, Mo Marley. After a long conversation, Mo then led the girls to a press conferences with a range of profressionals involved in football. The girls were able to learn more about the game from a range of different perspectives, with Chloe Rimmer and Natasha Pilkington being selected to ask their own questions!

Overall, a fantastic day! As always, the girls were a true credit to Churchtown Primary. Well done!
