Weekly Update

Please see below this weeks update

Dear Parents and families of Churchtown,

We hope that you are all keeping safe and well. Since Wednesday we have had Key Worker and Vulnerable children in school and life at school is settling into a new and different routine. We are very thankful to those families who are keeping their children at home. The updated government guidance asks that Parents and Carers who are Key Workers should keep their children at home if they can. We know that many of you are only sending children in for the days that you require it, please ensure this is the case so that we can keep our numbers as low as possible in school to keep everyone safe.

We are working closely with families to ensure they have everything they need to access the learning. We have made great strides with our Remote Learning since March 2020 and both Tapestry and Google Classroom have been up and running since the beginning of the week

including video lessons. Only for those parents who have requested a pack and again we are trying to keep this to a minimum), they will be available for collection on a Monday in the school entrance from midday. The children names will be on the pack.

Teachers and Teaching Assistants are providing both lessons in school for our Vulnerable and Key worker children and the Remote Learning for our children working from home. They are creating videos, phoning families and communicating with children and parents via email. Just a reminder that if you need to ask any questions, the year group emails are the best way to communicate with the teachers to get help with any remote learning. These addresses are - (dependent on the year group your child is in).

Phone calls to children and families will start next week for those children at home (not those attending school). They will take place over the next two weeks w/c 11th Jan and w/c 18th Jan so please expect a phone call home over the next two weeks. If you do see a phone number that is a withheld number, this could be a member of staff phoning you.

Those families that are entitled to Free School Meals, vouchers have been sent to you via email, please contact the school office if you haven’t received yours yet. All children currently in school are receiving free meals irrespective of whether they are entitled to Free School Meals.

It is very important that during this time health and well-being is our top priority. Our Pastoral Team and School Staff are available to support families with any concerns or queries.

Please remember this is a marathon and not a sprint. Many of you will be feeling more pressure about school work than your children, please do not, you all have your family circumstances to manage. We fully understand how difficult these times are for everyone if you are struggling please make sure you contact us and we will support however we can.

Stay Safe and Have a good weekend
