Howzatt for a day out?

Seven members of the successful school cricket squad enjoyed a memorable day out at Trafalgar Road watching Lancashire v Durham in the County Championship.

The group took advantage of the wonderful weather and were lucky enough to have a team photo with former Lancashire Captain Mark Chilton, who is now a member of the coaching staff.

The children also met a couple of England internationals, firstly they all managed to get the autograph of Ben Stokes on the day he was recalled to the England squad after recovering from injury.

Whilst one of the team was in the right place at the right time to meet former England one day captain and Ashes hero Paul Collingwood

Then to cap off a wonderful day a gentleman who was sat behind us during the play has emailed school complimenting the children on their behaviour

"I’ve just an enjoyable day at the Lancs. v Durham cricket match at Southport Cricket Club.  I was late arriving and ended up sitting behind a group of seven of your pupils; I feared the worst.

However, even the least of my fears proved to be misplaced, your pupils were very well behaved throughout, and showed a great deal of respect to each other, to their teachers, and to the cricket supporters around them.  All in all they deserve credit for presenting a very positive image of their school."
