Eco Champions

The Eco Champions at our school are always very busy. They have helped to achieve 6 green flag awards in total and hope to maintain this excellent status for our school. In 2013, they won Sefton’s ‘Eco Team of the Year’ for all their hard work across the school.

Last academic year, Miss Armour and Miss Barnes worked together with the children to create a School Action Plan in order to raise awareness of the key issues faced within the environment. The whole school were involved in the plans and included events such as the Big Battery Hunt, Go Green for Earth Day, litter picking and the recycling of school uniform.

This year, our Eco Champions are supporting the development of the ‘World’s Largest Lesson’ across our school, encouraging fellow pupils to work towards  17 global goals. This year’s theme ‘Every Plate Tells a Story’ invites pupils to consider the impact of their food choices on themselves and the planet. Please see our ‘World’s Largest Lesson’ section under ‘Our Learning’ for more information.

We are so proud of our Champions and cannot wait to complete further ‘green’ work.
