Year 2

In Year 2 we continue to provide children with a broad and balanced curriculum that allows for creative thinking and the development of independent skills. We aim to teach this through a range of fun and exciting activities, which underpin the learning of key skills across the curriculum. Furthermore, this year there will be a strong emphasis on the development of children’s mathematical and English skills, preparing them for challenge of Key Stage 2.

Home Tasks

In Year 2, we expect children to read at home with an adult at least 3 times a week.
In addition to this, children are encouraged to read independently whenever they choose!
Any reading at home can be recorded in the children's yellow reading diary.

We aim to provide children with a range of homework activities to prepare for, or consolidate their classroom learning.
Homework will be given out on Thursday to be returned by the following Tuesday unless otherwise instructed.
Homework will be related to the English, Maths or Theme work being focused on in school.

Home Learning - 7.9.21 - Message

Hello Year 2!

We are so sorry we can't all be in school together today, but unfortunately we have to wait a little while longer to make sure school is safe!
While you are at home today, we would like it if you can complete 4 tasks for us which you can find below this message.
They are:

1) A Maths sheet all about counting to 50.
2) An English lesson about capital letters.
3) A Science lesson all about materials
4) Get outside and make the most of the beautiful weather! We would have had PE this afternoon, so we would love it if you still did some exercise!

Have a wonderful day at home.
Try your best and hopefully we will see you again tomorrow!

Miss Armour, Mrs Bowers, Mrs Williams, Mrs Thornley & Mrs Williams :)
